Information

The BPA meets every Wednesday at 7:30pm from early September through to May. Competitions are held monthly for both “prints” and “digital images” covering a variety of subjects. During the summer months, when the BPA meetings do not take place, we arrange a programme of outings that provide an opportunity for members (and guests) to take photographs (potential competition winners!) and are also enjoyable social events.

As members of the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union (L&CPU) we compete annually with other regional photographic clubs and societies. There is a wide range of photographic interests and skills within the club, with photographic advice available from specialists in nature, landscape, portrait, darkroom, and digital photography.

The club is affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) through the L&CPU. We follow their guidelines and many lecturers and judges are obtained through them.

Our full and diverse club programme will provide something for every photographic taste. We offer the best in traditional photography and digital photography with all interests fully covered in our annual programme. See the “Syllabus” page for what’s on throughout the year and check out the posts on the “News” page for updates.

The club gives you the chance to meet other people interested in the many facets of photography. Newcomers to the hobby will benefit especially from the helpful advice and comments by the more experienced members. Our members would welcome the opportunity to give guidance and share knowledge and experience with those seeking assistance on improving their skills in both conventional dark room photography and digital imaging.

Thank you for visiting our website. We welcome new members of any photographic experience. If you would like further information, please email us: secretary@the-bpa.org.uk
